From anti-aging skin care ranging from Rejuvenating Eye Cream to Instant Wrinkle Reducer to my favorite, 2-in-1 vino anti-oxidant cleanser and toner, Delaney BeautyReserve left me with amazing products and the willingness to learn more about the science of skincare.

Want to know a bit about my favorite 2-in-1 vinto anti oxidant product? This yummy smelling cleanser and toner is colored in a gorgeous plum color, probably from the acai and goji berry extracts.  With high antioxidant benefits, this product lifts away makeup while delivering hydrating and soothing benefits.  This cleasner and toner (2-in-1) left my skin feeling revived, fresh, and velvety smooth.

Books for Fashion and Perfume lovers

Everyone seems to be reading 50 Shades of Grey, and yes I'll admit it, I bought the book too! Sure, it was great for the first night of reading, I read through the first 100 pages in no time at all, but I've been trying to get past it and unlike everyone else, I just can't seem to get through it; I have no will to pick that book up.  Maybe it's just not interesting to me, (or maybe it's not the best of writing that factors in), but hey, these fashion and fragrance books are a lot more enticing and are definitely right up my alley.

City of Style by Melissa Magsaysay
This book, written by a former Times style writer, is all about exploring Los Angeles fashion, from Bohemian to rock...now if only they made a New York City edition too!

The Perfume Lover by Denyse Beaulieu
A personal story of scent, a memoir of Beaulieu's passion for fragrance, a beautiful, intimate journey into the mystery of scent.

By Invitation Only: How We Built Gilt and Changed the Way Millions Shop by Alexis maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson
The story of how Gilt Group came about and has become one of the most fascinating startups, all beginning with one bold idea, "to bring sample sales online and change the way millions shop."

Coming to My Senses: A Story of Perfume, Pleasure and an Unlikely Bride by Alyssa Harad
A story about how one day, Alyssa Harad stumbles upon a perfume reivew blog and has a sudden love affair with fragrance, which leads her to sensual awakening, self-transformation, and in a few short words, celebrates her coming to her 'senses'.

The Gentry Man: A Guide for the Civilized Male by Hal Rubenstein.
Probably one of the most influential men's magazines/books ever created. This 'fashion bible' for men is innovative, featuring 'superb design and production quality', a keen eye for fashion, and excellent coverage of a broad spectrums of topics, from art and culture to sports, food and drink, home, cars and travel.  Get this for every and any man you know...every guy should own one!

The HBA 2012 IPDA Awards Winners

Lucky us got to attend the HBA Global Expo and see hundreds of beauty and packaging professionals this week!  Part of the expo features an award ceremony, in which it honors the year's most innovative packaging in several categories, including cosmetics, fragrances, personal care, skin care and sustainability. Just recently, sampling/travel size products and at home devices and tools have been added to the program.

Who judges the awards? Let's just say it's a large committee (of 100) who are industry pros, designers, suppliers and members of the media and they have much to evaluate, such as originality, design concept, creative use of new materials, components and decorating processes, technical competency and effective brand messaging.

Perfume-Puffing Robot Sniffs Out Social Media Mentions

What if we told you a little robot named 'Oily', short for 'oilfactory" emits a waft of a scent, of your choice, each and every time your name appears on a social media outlet? Customize the scents to differentiate between a re-tweet or a regular comment, the inventor of Oily, Ben Redford says, "We are gradually spending more and more time on screen and it's good to have some other form of sensory stimulus rather than just video and audio," and, "We wanted to reward people in the physical world for their digital and social interactions,"

Lady Gaga's FAME Perfume

Real slick, beauty editors and Little Monster fans all over the world, Lady GaGa's first ever pefume, FAME, was leaked on Twitter and went pretty viral all over the internet.  This 'black fluid' was said to smell like a cheap hooker, but on the back of the box, it says it smells like: tears of Belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot, and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.

The perfume is from the Haus Laboratories in Paris and is "First of it's Kind, this perfume is an innovation in fluid technology. It's black like the soul of fame, but invisible once airborne".

Deep, dark, and compounded by Lady GaGa and a bit reminiscent of Angel by Thierry Mugler, no?

Julia Roberts for Lancôme La Vie est Belle Perfume

A new femme fragrance by Lancôme will be launched in September 2012, and who better to front La Vie est Belle (life is beautiful) than the beautiful actress Julia Roberts.  The face of the new fragrance, and their mascara ambassadress, says during the press launch of the perfume that, “The perfume smells so good, which is the only reason I agreed to it. I believe in smelling good, and as my husband said, ‘people will think this is what you smell like’… It is a small-town girl’s dream to be in a place like this. Thank you all for being part of it”.

It opens on notes of blackcurrant and pear leading to a heart of iris, jasmine and orange blossom before trailing off with tonka bean, vanilla, praline and patchouli.  The perfume was formulated by perfumers Dominique Ropion and Olivier Polge.
