Wed, 04/13/2011 - 10:57 | Women were given a choice between giving up sex for a week or their favorite beauty product in a recent survey by L'Bel USA. It's not surprising that sex took the back seat on this one. The one that surprised me, though, was that they would give up their favorite pair of jeans or shoes. I'm not sure I could ever give up my comfy jeans just to keep my MAC foundation.
According to the survey, women are willing to sacrifice coffee, chocolate and even sex for their favorite beauty product, and more likely to let an airline security person take a pair of shoes or jeans than give up their skincare of makeup items.
The luxury beauty brand surveyed more than 1,300 American women over the age of 18 for this new annual springtime survey.
Other findings that came from the survey, according to a L'Bel press release:
* 76 percent said they carry a makeup/skincare related product in their purse regularly. Of those, 63 percent said lipstick is the top item.
* The top ranked item that women report is a "must-have" when they go out at night is their lipstick/lip gloss.
* Fragrance is the No. 1 item on which women would splurge their paycheck. An estimated 25 percent of women would use their paycheck to splurge on fragrance.
